Surveys & Focus Groups

BPRI is working with the Bellingham Regional Chamber of Commerce to conduct a survey to assess Whatcom County businesses’ perceptions, experiences, and responses to changes in cross-border tourism and shopping during the last year. We are specifically interested in hearing from businesses that rely on Canadian tourism/shopping or whose clientele is largely Canadian. 

The results from this survey will be aggregated and anonymized prior to being shared with policy makers and media.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to many changes in our daily lives. Along the Canada-US border, the border closure had specific impacts on border communities: family separation, disruption of networks of care, lack of access to essential goods, job and revenue losses and others.

While some stories – or parts of stories – have been shared, others have not. BPRI collected your stories and published a Story Map based on those responses, and will continue to add stories as they come in.
